Here’s JOLLY SOLDIER, which was arranged by Edward R. White for the Social Harp (1855). The words are based on a broadside ballad “The Rambling Sailor” or “The Rambling Soldier.” White only included the first verse in his setting, as the other verses are about the soldier/sailor’s exploits with the ladies!
